Cancel YouTube Premium step by step

Open youtube.com/paid_memberships while signed in.

Find your Premium membership and click Manage membership.

Click Deactivate, then choose Continue to cancel.

Confirm — YouTube may offer a pause option first; pick Cancel if you want out completely.
Before you cancel
Refunds: No partial refunds; benefits run until the end of the billing period.
After cancelling: Ads return and background play / downloads stop when the paid period ends. YouTube Music Premium ends at the same time.
Good to know: YouTube offers a 'pause membership' option for 1–6 months — useful if you only need a temporary break.
Subscribed through the App Store or Google Play?
Subscriptions billed through Apple or Google can only be cancelled in the store, not on the service's website. iPhone/iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Android: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the app never cancels the billing.
